do not envy your deserved
place in the sun. Gratified,

we are to realize 
the endless sheets 
of water on our sidewalks 

surely will arrive on the tips 
of turquoise ripples, kissing
every toe of your warm beach.

We hear you swish
the lazy globs of ice
in your Seabreeze.

We sympathize
as you surrender
to the heat. 

We know
that we are with you
in your heart,

and we hope 
you aren't seduced 
by the tropical allure

of a great white shark.
